The paper presents the results of research on the evaluation of Non-Financial Statements (Reports), drafted pursuant to the SIN standard (the Polish Non-Financial Information Standard) by a hypothetical investor. The research question was defined of whether the Non-Financial Statements (Reports), which — according to the declarations of the listed companies — are drafted in concordance with the SIN standard, fulfil the requirements set forth by the standard, and thus provide useful non-financial information for the interested parties. The research covered all reports fulfilling the indicated criterion, i.e. 20 listed companies. In the majority of cases, the research results indicate that there are considerable deviations from the SIN standard guidelines. There were five heterogeneity levels in the approach to the SIN standard. In order to carry out the goal, content analysis, descriptive and comparative analysis, as well as the induction method were employed.

The progress and dissemination of information and communication technologies represent an important factor of socio-economic development. Using the opportunities they offer, requires the respective competencies from society. The purpose of the article is to assess the level of digital skills conducive to using the Internet and mobile banking services against the background of the general digital skills presented by Poles. The research methods applied in the article are as follows: the subject literature studies, descriptive and comparative analysis as well as the nationwide survey research conducted in March 2020 using the CAWI method. The analysis and interpretation of the research material allowed the verification of the following research hypothesis – the high level of the general digital skills presented by Poles has a positive impact on the scope of their skills conducive to using both the Internet and mobile banking services.

This volume of Business Informatics contains the second part of extended versions of the selected papers accepted for the 11th Conference on Advanced Information Technologies for Management AITM’2013. The first part of the papers was published in the volume no 2/2013. This is also the fourteenth volume in the series of mo-nographs entitled “Advanced Information Technologies for Management”. The series was initiated in 2001, and each year a new volume is published. The purpose of this initiative is the popularization and dissemination of research results in the area of business information systems. To effectively support long-term management processes, information systems must relate to current models of con-ducting business initiatives and their development directions, as well as supporting the latest information technologies. Such solutions are desired by managers, infor-mation system developers and stakeholders. The first volume only contained articles written by researchers and Ph.D. students of the Department of Informatics at Wrocław University of Economics, Poland. In the years 2002–2006, the publication was given a national character linked with the National Scientific Conferences under the same title as the monograph series. Since 2007, all papers have been published only in English to disseminate this series in foreign countries. As a result, the scope of the monograph has been extended and the publication has gained a kind of “added value”. This year, the volume of Business Informatics continued the convention of providing researchers, as well as practitioners, an opportunity to present new results of Information Technology applied in business and management, and to discuss current achievements and applications. The papers present various viewpoints of Information Technology, perspectives and research results derived from diverse concepts and scientific foundations. The AITM’2013 had the highest number of submissions since 2007. The acceptance rate of 58.06 % is an indicator of the quality of the papers presented at the conference, and included in these two parts of Business Informatics. The list of authors includes a large number of scientists from Polish universities, as well as well as practitioners from consulting and integration firms. As every year, a large number of papers were submitted by Polish authors representing the leading research centers and universities, namely the AGH University of Science and Technology, Institute of Innovative Technologies EMAG, Katowice University of Economics and Wrocław University of Economics. This year the second volume also contains articles written by researchers from Chile (Universidad Tecnica Federico Santa Maria, Santiago), India (University of Calcutta), Italy (Ca’ Foscari University, Venice) and Macedonia (Ss. Cyril and Methodius University, Skopje). The publication of this volume is linked with the organization of the 11th Conference on Advanced Information Technologies for Management AITM’2013 (Cracow, September 8–11, 2013), thus allowing for yet another presentation of ideas, concepts and IT applications to a wider audience. All the papers in this volume were presented during the AITM’2013. It should be noted that the AITM’2013 was one of the important events of the Federated Conference on Computer Science and Infor mation Systems FedCSIS’2013, which was attended by over 300 registered partici pants from all over the world. We want to direct special thanks to the FedCSIS’2013 organizers – Leszek Ma ciaszek, Marcin Paprzycki and Maria Ganzha – without whose hard work and conti nuous support it would not have been possible to have such a great conference. Finally, we would like to thank all the members of the program committee for their quick and thorough work. In particular, special thanks are due to the authors and the reviewers for their insightful and critical evaluation of all articles.

We have the pleasure to present to you the next issue of Business Informatics, focusing on a specific area of IT systems application which is sport. In particular, our attention is paid to using ICT systems to manage and control organization systems of sport clubs, to manage organization processes of training camps, participation in competitions, as well as the organization and leading of trainings. Majority of studies are financed from the grant “Academic Sports Association Platform” (PeAZS), being a tool of monitoring training, organizational and financial processes of the institutions realizing the ACSS program. The first paper presents assumptions and functionalities of the information-communication system called the e-AZS Platform (PeAZS), the purpose of which was to provide the authorities of the AZS-AWF club of Wrocław with a tool enabling them to integrate the flow of information between the authorities of the sports club, coaches, contestants and the widely understood environment of the sports club (sports unions, sponsors, etc.). The second paper describes a computer aided system for designing sport training. It is important to underline that this system fully identifies all of the factors having influence over the effectiveness of a training process. The system relates to quantifiable disciplines, such as athletics, but the authors expect the development of this system to cover unquantifiable disciplines, such as combative sports, too. The third paper describes and explains the usage of IT and electronic tools to register behaviours when playing volleyball, based on the example of Plus Liga. The fourth paper describes new Internet communication technologies, basing on the example of Polish sports organizations. In particular, popular forms of Internet communication (NICT) were described, while pointing to the need of improvement of the competences relating to the use of NICT. In the fifth paper the authors investigate the issue of the valuation of sports clubs’ intangible assets, with the use of new media. It is shown that media value, created by the new media (social media), may be an indirect element possibly deciding on the value of a club and particular subjects participating in it. A practical example of this type of a valuation process (assessment of the value of an event, a club, a player) is Pentagon Research – a company which has been dealing with these issues for many years now. The sixth paper presents the possibility of using the e-learning solutions in sports organizations. The authors highlight the need to widen communication channels in the processes of sports learning, and present, in a systematic manner, the implications of solutions relating to electronic development and building of knowledge repositories. The seventh paper describes the functioning of fitness clubs, so popular nowadays all around Poland. They require the application of modern IT tools in client management. The article describes the basic functions and modules used to manage data, allowing for the improvement of communications processes with the clients of a fitness club. The eighth paper describes theoretical indications of the possibilities to develop an integrated management system for the needs of sports organizations. It has been suggested that the development of such system should be based on the concept of business social responsibility. An important added value of this concept is the thesis on the need of cross-sectoral integration, giving rise to the development of a system engaging private and public subjects, which may, in turn, favour the improvement of the relationships between the subjects functioning in these sectors. The ninth, and final, paper of this issue of Business Informatics is research on designing strategies for managing the relationship with clients with the use of broadly understood ICT tools. It is worth mentioning here that the research was carried out basing on the example of a global sports organization – Pure Jatomi. As a consequence, the authors describe ICT tools in the context of the possibility to accelerate the Customer Lifetime Value. The authors as well as the editors of this issue of Business Informatics are hoping for a considerable interest in these issues, and that the need to develop the subject matter will be large enough to enable, in the nearest future, the publication of a next issue of Business Informatics of Sport Science including a description of practical implementations and new concepts, such as, for example, the use of Augmentem Reality technology, and many other modern technologies and ICT systems for the improvement of the organizational system, as well as practical solutions for sports trainings.
